Watford have appointed boss Quique Sanchez Flores following the sacking of head coach Javi Gracia only five games into the season.
Even the 54-year-old Spaniard returns after coaching the Hornets leading them before going to Espanyol.
He remained with the La Liga side for nearly two years before a short spell in China.
Sanchez Flores has also coached Benfica and Valencia, also directed Atletico Madrid to Europa League and Super Cup glory.
Gracia left after major Watford win in their last ten games, a run that stretched back into April.
They have taken 1 point from their four Premier League sit bottom of the table and games this year.
Last year Gracia took Watford into an 11th-placed finish – their best in the Premier League – and only the second FA Cup final in their history.
Chairman Scott Duxbury stated:”Javi has represented Watford with good dignity and will always be deserving of the fullest respect because of his accomplishments.”
A club statement added:”Everybody in the Hornets wants Javi and his staff all the best for your future, and they will remain welcome visitors later on at Vicarage Road.”
Gracia was under a year. Watford had the option to expand the bargain by a further three decades.
