Manchester City have now commissioned a sculpture of priest Vincent Kompany to be set up outside the Etihad Stadium.
The Premier League champions have also renamed a street in their training complicated.
The road connecting the club’s academy pitches as well as the first-team center was renamed’Vincent Kompany Crescent’, and features a mosaic inspired by his match-winning goal against Manchester United at 2012.
Manchester City announced the plans in the Etihad, live on Sky Sports Premier League.
“It is an unbelievable honor to be recognised by this distinctive club in this way,” said Kompany, that produced 360 looks for City.
“The journey that we went on together during my 11 years at Manchester altered my life and I am thrilled to have played my small part in shifting the length of this club’s history during that moment.”
City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak added:”Vincent is a special body in the history of Manchester City Football Club.
“He isn’t just a motivational and resolute leader in the pitch, however an impeccable and pitiful ambassador off it.
“His participation is going to likely be remembered for generations to come, by fans of the team and the wider football community that rightly recognise Vincent as one of the iconic Premier League figures of his creation.”
