When Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic meet at UFC 226 in Las Vegas on July 7 for the first time in UFC history, the heavyweight and heavyweight champions will square off in the Octagon.
Miocic opened as a -185 favorite with Cormier coming back at +155.
Miocic, who will put his name is riding a six-fight winning streak with five successes coming from first-round knockout. The Cleveland native has placed himself in greatest heavyweight of all time with a suffocating success over Francis Ngannou in UFC 220’s discussion. Miocic place the new record in the three for successive heavyweight title defenses.
Cormier is no stranger to the heavyweight division, as”DC” opened his professional MMA career a perfect 13-0 in the weight class before moving down to light heavyweight. Cormier has quietly assembled one of the most impressive resumes in all of combined martial arts together with wins over Anthony”Rumble” Johnson, Alexander Gustafsson and Frank Mir.
Cormier will attempt to become just the next fighter in history to hold two UFC belts linking.
