The training team of rotherham have opted to alter dugouts for their home matches, in an attempt to help turn around a poor start.
The Sky Bet League One side’ve failed to acquire any of the four home games (in all competitions) so far this effort, together with the concession of critical stoppage-time goals to Sheffield Wednesday at the Carabao Cup and Tranmere at League One was the tipping point.
Rotherham director Paul Warne hopes his communication with his players will soon undoubtedly be improved by being farther away from the loud house stand that his group prefers to strike in the second half.
“You could be in dugout, but there are a few reasons for the shift,” he told the club website.
“One is we haven’t really done well at home this season and we are a little bit helpless on particular things. As a result of that, we change that and things is 1 thing we can change.
“It is going to be a bit fresh for us since staff also and we are likely to proceed with it. Then we will stay there if we win and we are moving back up the mountain when we lose. There is no more play than this .”
The next home game of rotherham comes with their beleaguered opponents with just picked up one stage in their opening five games, against struggling Bolton on Saturday.
Largely thanks to two off victories, Rotherham are 15th with a game in hand on all but one of the sides above them in the table, leaving them directly in touch with the play-off places.
“I know a few clubs have achieved it over recent years and different managers have tried different things,” Warne continuing. “I understand Sheffield United did it I’m not saying we’re going to arrive at the Premier League, however, you don’t know, you can dream.
“It might help, it might not. We could then be worse going that way [to the home fans]. I spoke for their opinions to the team and they feel that we might be helped by it.
“When it does and it will help us to acquire and it’s a much better operating environment, then excellent.”
