Steve Smith has regained top spot in the ICC Test.
Smith missed the third Ashes Test at Headingley with concussion but has toppled Kohli after the latter captured a duck in the second innings of both India over West Indies in Jamaica.
The Australian leads the way with 904 points, with Kohli a place back to New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson in third position on 878 points along with 903 points.
Smith – who has graduated 144, 142 and 92 in his three innings in this Ashes series so far – could add to his tally through the fourth Ashes Test at Old Trafford this week however Kohli is not back in Test actions until India host South Africa in October.
Smith became No 1 in December 2015 however Kohli overtook him August 2018 when Smith was due to his single-family ban after the ball-tampering scandal.
After finishing a century and two fifties in four innings in the 2-0 series win over West Indies in the Caribbean four locations have climbed to seventh.
Jasprit Bumrah and Jason Holder have climbed with Bumrah up from seventh to third and Holder moving from 11th to fourth.
India seamer Bumrah picked up six wickets, such as a hat-trick, in West Indies’ first innings in Jamaica, while 5-77 was bagged by Windies skipper Holder in the opening dig of India.
Australia’s Pat Cummins (908 points) tops the standings, followed by South Africa’a Kagiso Rabada (851) and Bumrah (835), together with Holder and James Anderson tied for fourth (814).
Holder remains the Top all-rounder, with Vernon Philander, Shakib Al Hasan, Ravindra Jadeja and Ben Stokes rounding out the top five.
