Dermot Weld has confirmed his Irish St Leger winner Search For A Song will not run again this year.
The filly continued at the Curragh, beating last year’s Doncaster St Leger winner Kew Gardens under a nice trip from Chris Hayes on Sunday.
Having finished fourth at the Irish Oaks she subsequently won the Galtres Stakes – and Weld is excited about the next year can bring.
He said:”Search For a Song came out of her race but is finished for the year.
“She’s done us proud, and now we look forward to some critical campaign a year ago.”
Weld was using Tarnawa, who won the Blandford Stakes, also she has various choices for the season’s close.
He explained:”Tarnawa came out of her race equally well and contains three options, the Fillies & Mares Race in Ascot in October, the EP Taylor in Canada and the Prix de l’Opera on Arc day.
“We will determine which one nearer the moment. Both fillies did us proud”
