Etzebeth has denied any wrongdoing and stays together with the South Africa squad.
Following the incident, Etzebeth said:”It is completely untrue and delusional to claim that I racially abused anybody in Langebaan. Several witnesses can corroborate that.”
South African Rugby said on Thursday its dedication as a”good corporate citizen” could see that it stick by the authority of the Equality Court and confirmed it had begun an”internal process” on the situation.
Wednesday’s announcement from the SAHRC about one of South Africa players arrived two days before a vital game for the Springboks, that must beat Italy on Friday to remain in contention for a World Cup quarter-final place.
