Ronnie O’Sullivan began the defence of his Shanghai Masters title with a detailed victory against wild card Zhang Yi.
As he got under way in the new effort with a display in his first game since the World Championships in Sheffield, O’Sullivan looked sharp.
Zhang surprised many by beating Ali Carter in the round, however there was a repeat never on the cards from O’Sullivan.
The 43-year-old, trying to acquire for its next year in a row, wrapped up the win with straight centuries centuries.
He’s joined at the quarter-finals Jack Lisowski and by Shaun Murphy, that obtained in the Regal International East Asia Hotel.
Lisowski knocked to conquer former world number one Mark Selby 6-3, and he will confront fellow Englishman Murphy at the round after the’Magician’ Mark Williams 6-5 that was defeated.
O’Sullivan will play the winner of the match between Xiao Guodong along with Kyren Wilson.
