Cagliari after their assistants were discovered racially abusing Inter Milan forward Romelu Lukaku will not be punished by the Soccer Federation this season.
The Manchester United striker was exposed on September 1 during Inter’s 2-1 win over Cagliari.
The incident , which occurred before and following Lukaku scored a penalty to win the game in the 72nd minute was researched by the FIGC.
However, Italian football’s governing body has now revealed that no action will be taken against the club.
The FIGC analysis established that before the punishment was taken by Lukaku, there was loud whistling and crying in a part of the North Stand. It said the noises were heard from person spectators, but stewards could not identify exactly what was said and who had been doing it.
The analysis concluded there was a lot of shouting and whistling generally to identify whether any”discriminatory” terminology has been used and, consequently, the FIGC has decided Cagliari can’t be penalized, and no action will be taken against them.
The federation has, nevertheless, fined Cagliari #5,000 as a result of plastic bottles thrown from the audience during precisely exactly the match.
