Highly-rated Ballydoyle three-year-old Japan has Taken up the Marketplace for the Group 1 Juddmonte International at next week’s Ebor Festival.
Priced at 16/1 in places only a few days ago, the Group 1 winner is now as short as 4/1 following a flow of stakes.
In the last 24 hours, Japan is currently the most endorsed from the marketplace having accrued 48 percent of stakes. 38% of punters at the exact same time period have sided with favourite Crystal Ocean.
Trainer Aidan O’Brien shown earlier this week the King Edward VII Stakes winner may be entered into the race in York next week having been in excellent form of late night.
The Derby third gained over in France out time, following up his Royal Ascot success with an impressive win at Longchamp.
Entry to the Juddmonte International would see Japan confronted with the mighty Crystal Ocean, currently the favorite for that race in 11/8.
John Gosden’s King Of Comedy divides the pair in the marketplace, priced in 3/1.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson:”It seemed as though the St Leger has been Aidan O’Brien’s probably course for Japan, but his latest variant seems to have tempted the Ballydoyle trainer into using a shot in Crystal Ocean.
“O’Brien’s record in this race talks for itself, also punters were fast to catch on board with the in-form three-year-old in the prices available before this week”
