The horse racing world turns to Baltimore, Md. this week, where Always Dreaming will continue his pursuit to get a Triple Crown in the next leg, the 142nd running of the Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course.
Ridden by John Velazquez and educated by Todd Fletcher, Always Dreaming won the Kentucky Derby almost two weeks ago as a favorite. The horse passes this week as the favorite at the Preakness too, with early 10-11 odds to prevail at Pimlico, per OddsShark.
In three of the last five decades, the Kentucky Derby winner won the Preakness Stakes, together with American Pharoah completing the game’s first Triple Crown in 37 years at 2015.

At 1??3/16 miles, the Preakness is the shortest of the Triple Crown races. Always Dreaming will learn where he begins with the post position draw on Wednesday.
On Friday, the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes, a Grade II race among 3-year-old fillies, will be run, beginning at 5 pm ET on NBCSN. The undercard of this Preakness begins at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday with NBCSN also providing coverage of these races.
