Using preseason games kicking off in full this weekend, the start of the NFL season is so close, we can taste it.
You will find, in actuality, 11 preseason games on Thursday, and it’s a sure bet that all the New Jersey sports gambling sites — online and retail — will probably take action. However, where are you really going to see the game? Which one, although perhaps at a sportsbook that is nearby? You’ll find 10 of these after all.
Eight of those 10 have been in Atlantic City. And also the AC sportsbooks are prepping for their very first full time of gridiron action.
I’ll be reviewing each of the novels layouts, features, and amenities. The focus of today is the William Hill Sports Book at Ocean Casino Resort.
Speech: 500 Boardwalk
Although it was called Ocean Resort Casino, ocean Casino Resort started in June 2018. It replaced the prior Revel that shut in 2014. But because the building itself was recently constructed, the remodel has been quick.
In reality, it’s so new it still has the”new car look and smell” for it. Ocean’s location makes it that the property in only a brief stroll from the Boardwalk entry to Hard Rock AC and the north end of the Boardwalk. Everything about this house is new.
As the launching of the casino paralleled the time of the overturn of PASPA, the William Hill sportsbook fits seamlessly and naturally into the style of the casino space’s stream. It’s certainly not a”bolt-on” or”retro-fit” that additional sportsbooks in NJ appear to be.
William Hill, which often refers to itself as”America’s #1 Sportsbook,” has the No. 1 position of retail sportsbook branding in New Jersey. It’s Monmouth, Ocean places number 3, and Tropicana.
The William Hill Sports Book of ocean is easy to find in the primary escalators. My first impression of walking at the sportsbook is only”WOW!” The distance is big, with nearly 360 degrees of information and TV screens. There is also a large sports-themed pub adjacent to one of the entrance spaces.
In addition to this collection of there’s also a large number of seating options offered with a mixture of pub tables, and sofas, chairs.
The entire area is self-contained without feeling confined, and there’s not any doubt you that you get this”big-time sportsbook sense” you may experience on the vegas strip.
In terms of seeing with Ocean Casino, as with all AC resorts, there is valet parking and also options. The self-park option, which most of the people would consider being the”more affordable” parking alternative, costs $10 to get non-hotel guests/or guests with no”loyalty” card on the weekend ($5 to weekdays).
The sportsbook has a”theatre in the round” design to it. You’ll be compelled to try out the”pano” feature on your camera to attempt to take it all in.
Either side of this publication allows easy accessibility to the sports bar/casino on the other side along with the casino one side. There is a area which functions as a walkway for all those crossing over to the casino or into the pub.
The sports bar is attention-grabbing and, if it was a standalone location, would be a highlight in its own right. Using a bank of TV’s visible from every chair, the 15 chairs in the bar design all feature a video gaming terminal. The pub is framed by chances and an information screen over the ceiling.
Within the sportsbook, there’s seating for 130+ with plenty of spaces to stand and observe the matches. Every place at the sportsbook affords easy access to see HD TV screens and information boards’ multitude inside the area.
There are eight live teller windows located on a single end of this sportsbook. They are with ample space between each.
RATING: 5 stars
William Hill does a lot of things well as a part of Ocean’s design, but they really do fall short here with only two kiosks.
Similar to what I noticed in the William Hill Monmouth Park sportsbook, there’s a lack of kiosks that are self-betting onsite. Especially in comparison to the comparative size of the space.
RATING: 1 star
The bet amount at William Hill is $2. This is a positive for the player as the vast majority of NJ retail books have a minimum for all stakes.
The William Hill program are the option for those seeking to put bet amounts below the $2 minimum.
RATING: 5 stars
You’ll find HD TV screens aplenty at Ocean Casino sportsbook as mentioned. While there are several smaller”adjusted” size TV displays, the majority of the TV screen design is at a”video walls” format in which the dimensions of these displays can be customized based on the current activity.
It is an impressive and appealing feature that actually produces a dynamic effect. I can not say enough about this sportsbook supplied and has been designed. Top-of-the-line stuff.
RATING: 5 stars
In this large oval space, it makes sense that there is ample seating (130+) plus the space afforded for standing sports bettors.
But it is not merely the amount of chairs but also the quality and alternatives, ranging from multi-person sofas to plush”theatre style” leather chairs to bar table/chair choices.
There’s something cool and comfortable for everybody in William Hill sportsbook. If you are a New York Jets fan, you will have to be there whenever the sportsbook doors open at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8 to get the best seating alternative for the 1 p.m. season opener vs the Buffalo Bills.
It should be noted that on occasions like the Super Bowl, with sporting events, the sportsbook may get very crowded. So on these days, come early to get your seat.
RATING: 5 stars
Even the William Hill Sports Book personnel on-site the afternoon of my trip described each one of the seating as”first-come, first-serve,” without the available pre-reserved seating options.
But starting during football season, the Skybox Suites in William Hill sportsbook are offered with seating for up to ten guests, for bookings. You can learn more about this particular choice on the casino website. We were unable to examine this part of this sportsbook.

While watching a football game the sport bar is the closest oasis for drinks.
Otherwise, one wants to belly up to the bar to place an order, although there is some limited server service in the bar during busier days. Good, but not great. This is currently a”drinks-only” bar.
It must be noted that Ocean AC’s website does tease the”food menu coming to the fall” at the sportsbook. For the time being, any food needs to be purchased and picked up from a restaurant situated throughout the casino gaming courtroom or even the casino.
The options include Beer & Fish Fry, Wahlburgers, Starbucks, Pit Boss BBQ, and Rocco Kitchen & Market. Each of the food purchased is allowed to be brought back in the sportsbook.
RATING: 3.5 stars
While my visit was during a”non-peak” time on the weekend, that the William Hill sportsbook was teeming with tellers and supervisors.
The team has been conversational about the upcoming day’s sporting events and engaging. The book also clearly places its hours of operation, opening at 10 a.m. Monday-Friday along with 9 a.m. on Saturday/Sunday.
The sportsbook personnel has stocked daily and future sheets’ racks to the day action.
RATING: 5.0 stars
Self-parking at Ocean Casino is $ and $ 5 weekdays 10 weekends as mentioned earlier.
While these fees mean less cash Ocean’s prices are in the low end of Atlantic City parking fees. The casino and sportsbook are easily accessible from the self-parking garage.
RATING: 3.5 stars
There is a bounty of food, beverage and casino gaming choices at neighboring and Ocean Casino as this can be Atlantic City.
The only minor drawback is Ocean’s place; it is a little bit of an outlier in the heart of the and boardwalk traffic. This is a bad thing and you get the added bonus of some views of the Atlantic from various parts of the casino.
RATING: 4.5 stars
As a part of each sportsbook visit, I am placing a football bet for the season that is upcoming 2019. Now the NFL futures wagers marketplace is hot and it’s a wonderful time to invest prior to once the season gets underway, the odds/totals begin to fluctuate.
Below is my upcoming bet on the Eagles to go 10 wins this year costing $2 to win $1.90:
The William Hill Sports Book in Ocean Casino is really a”genuine and magnificent” state-of-the-art centre. Simply put, it is a really cool place and a”must visit” for any sport bettor heading into Atlantic City.
There are still pub wait staff service in the publication as well as some places for improvement for example more self explanatory kiosks. William Hill/Ocean will be adding a food menu to the book coming this autumn, which will be a plus for people spending seeing all of those college football and NFL games.
