Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka has confirmed he is”close” to signing a new contract at St James’ Park.
His existing deal is seen by the Magpies number one that is 30-year-old die in 2022 but appears set to be awarded with terms for his or her performances.
“We’re in talks. I’m close,” he explained. “We are in contact and we can sort it out whenever possible.
“I am happy here if I can remain longer here, I will be glad. People have treated me really well, since I came here. I am able to say I feel at home .
“I’m happy that folks believe I can remain here to the longer-term. It is such a big honour for me personally.”
Dubravka – who is the Slovakia number one with 16 caps – authorized for Newcastle after a first loan deal last summer out of Sparta Prague.
He’s made 55 appearances for Newcastle since, maintaining 16 Premier League clean sheets.
