Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka has verified that he’s”close” to signing a new contract at St James’ Park.
His existing deal is seen by Even the Magpies number one that is 30-year-old die in 2022 but appears set to be awarded with terms because of his performances.
“We’re in discussions. I’m close,” he said. “We’re in contact and we can sort it out as soon as possible.
“I’m happy here if I can stay longer here, I will be pleased. People have treated me well since I arrived here. I can say that I feel at home .
“I am glad that folks think that I can remain here for the longer-term. It’s such a big honour for me personally.”
Dubravka – who is also the Slovakia number one with 16 caps – signed from Sparta Prague following an initial loan deal.
He’s made 55 appearances for Newcastle since, keeping 16 Premier League sheets that were clean.
