Among the NFL rivalries is in the spotlight on Sunday when the New Orleans Saints are hosted by the Los Angeles Rams live on Sky Sports Action and Main Event.
This is exactly what to expect…
With this week’s Inside The Huddle podcast, NFL Network reporter Steve Wyche shared that Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan said to him:”All that smoke we have for our competitions Atlanta – which is about the Rams.”
Among the new rivalries of the NFL stems out of two encounters last season – and all the conversation around them. After New Orleans came out on top of a 45-35 touchdown-fest at the season, Saints head coach Sean Payton singled out.
Those comments didn’t sit well with Peters, who said after the game:”Inform Sean Payton keep speaking that s***, we are likely to see him soon. You feel me?
“I enjoyed what he had been saying on the sidelines also. So I’ll tell [him]’Keep speaking that so *** and I hope you visit me shortly. You feel me?’
“And we’re going to have a great small bowl of gumbo together.”
Regardless of both playing down it in the build-up into an NFC rematch at New Orleans, the Rams winning in contentious fashion – a blown no-call on a pass interference preventing the Saints from obtaining a late down which may have won them the match – Wyche has stated the”bad blood” is definitely still there.
Will Blackmon pointed out :”The [Saints] took the beat way too private, however. The country sued!” Indeed, a lawsuit was filed against the NFL within the no-call, but was dismissed before this year.
Last Monday night, the Saints (1-0) opened their season with a 30-28 thriller – and also ancient match of the year candidate – as they toppled the Texans having a last-second Wil Lutz area goal.
Drew Brees orchestrated a surgical six-play push with 37 seconds left to get his team.
Los Angeles (1-0) went to Carolina and held off the Panthers 30-27. Todd Gurley had a fourth quarter and managed 101 yards on 15 bits.
Jared Goff didn’t possess his best afternoon (23/39, 186 yards, 1 touchdown, one choice ) but he pitched a fourth-quarter score and the defense stepped up when it mattered most.
It is a joy to watch these thoughts duos in actions, and on the two situations, Vince Young and Blackmon expressed their ideas around ITH.
Young explained:”I see Drew Brees winning MVP this season. I still see the guy out there slinging that basketball conveying, around in terrific shape and leading his staff out to fight each year.
“You see that at a great deal of quarterbacks but there is something very specific about Brees to me and that I have a great deal of respect for him.
“I’m just happy to see he is still going as him and Sean Payton’s chemistry is doing well – getting touchdowns and receiving the guys a great deal of wins.”
Meanwhile, Blackmon lauded the Rams’ attack, stating:”I believe Jared Goff and Sean McVay’s connection is phenomenal. It’s possible to see the growth from if the work was taken by McVay there. The group became.
“I had the pleasure of enjoying in Washington when McVay had been the offensive coordinator and that he had exactly the same connection with Kirk Cousins.
“We were watching McVay on the play-call – and he is about the headset speaking to Kirk all of the way down before the final second with what’s happening and what to perform.
“Finally it took some time for Kirk to accept possession – because the one complaint for him was: once the play broke down, what to do today?
“Kirk eventually began making that adjustment on his own, and the exact same thing with Goff finally starting doing this on his own as well.”
We could expect this one to be a shootout, so which participant from both defense can step up and become a difference-maker? Rams linebacker Cory Littleton’needed a daytime’ weekend, racking up 14 tackles, two passes defended, a fumble, plus also a fourth-quarter interception. Can he do it contrary to New Orleans?
Also, in the NFC Championship match, Gurley had only four rushing attempts for 10 metres. His ability to tear through guards – and – keep Brees off the area could be key. On the opposing side, Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara can not be permitted to run riot.
