What’s bigger in Texas, and with every passing race, therefore is your benefit Joe Gibbs Racing and Team Penske drivers are producing on the contest at NASCAR’s Cup Series.
Joe Gibbs Racing and Team Penske drivers have won each race so far. Kevin Harvick, the preseason favorite to win the Cup Series title, is winless on the season but is your favorite, recorded at 5/1 chances in the Westgate SuperBook, to win his fourth-career race at Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday.
Harvick has top-10 finishes at the last nine races at the 1.5-mile monitor, such as a pair of wins and three runner-up showings. He also includes five Xfinity Series wins at Texas and a Truck Series win.
“There is so much change this year,” that the Stewart-Haas racer said in a statement regarding the new technical rules in 2019. “You’ve got to lean on this past experience. For us, I really feel like that’s exactly why he have had adequate finishes the first few weeks. I don’t think as a team we feel like our automobiles are where they need to be, but experience has led to decent endings so we are able to change the things we need to when we get home.”
Texas will comprise the baseline 2019 rules package with a tapered-spacer engine that can create about 550 horsepower. This weekend’s configuration was initially used this year at Las Vegas, a race won by Joey Logano.
MORE: Las Vegas practice speeds As the season wears on, it will just be a matter of time until Harvick and the Stewart-Haas Racing team regain their championship art. If it happens remains to be seen, but the slow beginning has created betting value for Harvick not generally seen at Texas, although he’s the favorite. For the 2018 spring race at Fort Worth, Harvick had 3/1 odds, and for the 2018 fall race, he had been listed at 11/4.
It’s similar to Ford is off to a slow start, either. The Mustang has got four poles and three wins to begin the season, most recently by Brad Keselowski, who led 446-of-500 laps to take the checkers in Martinsville.

NASCAR in Texas race info Date/Time: Sunday, March 31/3:00 p.m. ET
Race Distance: 334 Laps/501 Miles
Track Shape: Oval
Track Length: 1.5 miles
Banking: 24 degrees
2018 Winner: Kyle Busch
Sunday’s race marks the fifth time Cup cars have raced on the 1.5-mile trail because it failed its next re-pave. The track also included a drainage system on the frontstretch and backstretch, and re-profiled Turns 1 and 2 (banking reduced from 24 to 20 degrees, racing surface enlarged from 60 to 80 feet wide). The track is most similar to Kentucky and Las Vegas, but outcomes from Texas before the 2017 season should no longer be considered applicable.
