Michael Flynn has opted to Remain as Newport County Manager after talks with Lincoln City.
Sky Sports News reported the Flynn talked to Lincoln’s hierarchy during the weekend and it’s understood he fitted the criteria set by their chairman Clive Nates, that was over from South Africa to oversee the recruiting procedure.
League lost Cowley brothers Danny and Nicky into Huddersfield.
Their offer was refused by also the 38-year-old, although newport gave Lincoln permission to hold talks with Flynn.
A Newport statement read:”After heavy media speculation, Newport County AFC could confirm the team received an approach in recent times from a different EFL club for those expert services of manager Michael Flynn.
“The Exiles’ plank gave permission for Michael to talk to the other club.
“Michael has informed the board that those talks are at an end and that he remains dedicated to, and entirely focused on, continuing his job as director of Newport County AFC.”
It’s known Lincoln also made contact however he has reiterated his commitment to his club.
In a statement on Wycombe’s site on Monday night, Ainsworth said:”We’ve enjoyed a really powerful start to the year and it’s always flattering to see us staff, players and the club as a whole – spoke about in substantial respect.
“But it’s important that the attention is on ourselves and what we do as a club to ensure things continue to proceed in the perfect direction.”
There’s one other unnamed supervisor on Lincoln’s shortlist.
