Juventus midfielder Emre May says he’s”shocked” at being left out of the club’s Champions League squad, and it has indicated he will find a move away from the Italian winners in January.
Can made 37 appearances for Juventus last year after joining on a free transfer from Liverpool, but has discovered his chances restricted after the arrival of Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey this summer.
Can was a surprise omission from the club’s 22-man squad for the Champions League this year and the German claims he’d have pushed to get a transfer away from the team had he knew he’d be left out from Maurizio Sarri.
“I’m not in the squad for the Champions League which really shocked me because I was promised otherwise last week,” Can told Sky at Germany.
“Hence I would not have remained at Juventus, since it was the primary condition for me to become a part of the Champions League squad.
“It’s a deep shock for me and I cannot know it. I played really well in the Champions League last year. There has not been any explanation.
“Juventus called me yesterday, the phone call was less than one minute and they told me”You are not in the group.
“I have to play from the Champions League, I Need to play in the Champions League. When I am back, I’ll speak with the club and we will see what happens.”
