Joseph Parker’s supervisor”agrees” with Derek Chisora’s press conference rant, however, states that the New Zealander does not have some”ego problems” ahead of their heavyweight battle.
Chisora needed to know why his fight Parker wasn’t the major event, starting into an expletive-laden tirade at the first press conference to get a bumper O2 invoice, which is topped by Regis Prograis against Josh Taylor on October 26, live on Sky Sports Box Office.
Higgins believes Parker’s crucial battle with Chisora will also capture the interest of fight fans next month, although prograis confronts Scotland’s Taylor in the World Boxing Super Series final, with two world super-lightweight titles at stake.
“Yeah I agree,” Higgins told Sky Sports. “Parker-Chisora or Chisora-Parker because the Brits like to call it’s a larger attraction , when it comes to tickets sold in The O2 and viewing figures. It depends on how the choice is being made by you.
“Technically it [Prograis vs Taylor] is more elite concerning names, but in terms of fan favourites and exciting boxing matches, Parker-Chisora is the bigger occasion, so I agree with Chisora.
“That being said, our side don’t really care as much. Joseph hasn’t been one to have ego issues, or fret about stuff like this. He knows exactly what the job is and it will be to punch Chisora in the face, and closed him up.”
Chisora has parted company with coach David Coldwell, that guided the 35-year-old into an volatile knockout win.
The coach affirmed on social websites that he couldn’t split his time between his additional fighters and travelling to London for Chisora’s trainings.
Higgins said:”It’s a indication of problems in the camp and close to the struggle. You have got to ask the reason why to lose a trainer that seemed to be a good team, and his coach out this far?
“Our team is unified, professional and on the house track without any problems.”
