Joe Cullen insists he’s good enough to win a big after he maintained the Darts Matchplay championship.
Cullen, nicknamed’Rockstar’, acquired his maiden European Tour title with a remarkable victory over world No 1 Michael van Gerwen at the final.
He has set his sights, although the 30-year-old from Bradford now includes three PDC titles to his title.
“One hundred percent it is about time I got into a European Tour final, let alone winning one. It has been a long time coming,” said Cullen, who is back in the planet’s top 16.
“To conquer the guy himself MVG in the last is a dream come true, ” I can not put into words how happy I am at that moment.
“Hopefully this can get me into the Grand Slam, since I’ve never played with that tournament in my career.
“If I’m good enough to acquire one of them then I’m fine enough to win a big.”
It is not long to wait patiently until darts is back on Sky Sports, the World Grand Prix gets underway on Sunday, October 6 in Dublin’s Citywest Arena and seven times of policy continues until the closing on Saturday.
