A part of the Inter Milan ultras group’Curva Nord’ have insisted the monkey chants weren’t supposed to be racist.
Lukaku, who signed Inter from Manchester United last month, he demanded prompt action by the Italian soccer authorities after he had been abused during Sunday’s 2-1 triumph.
A team known as’L’Urlo Della Nord’ say Lukaku”must comprehend” that – from Italy – lovers have”ways only to assist our teams and to try to produce competitions nervous” – and they don’t think them to be displaced.
In an announcement on Facebook, the group said:”Hi Romelu, we’re writing you on behalf of Curva Nord, yes the guys who welcomed you at your arrival in Milan. We are really sorry you thought was still racist.
“You have to understand that Italy isn’t like a number of other north European nations where racism is a true problem. It is not like this although we understand that it might have appeared shameful to you.
“In Italy we use some”ways” simply to”assist our crews” and to attempt to make our opponents stressed, maybe not for racism but also to mess up them.
“We’re a multi-ethnic fans business and we’ve always welcomed players from everywhere. However, we have always used that’manner’ in the past with different teams’ players and we probably will in the future.
“We aren’t racist and therefore are not the Cagliari fans.”
The announcement went on to argue that fans act in stadiums, and that the struggle against racism should not start in soccer stadiums but in schools than in the external world.
On Tuesdaythe league’s disciplinary judge claims he had more evidence before deciding if Cagliari ought to be punished for the chants, which judge Gerardo Mastrandrea didn’t refer to as”racist” in his weekly report.
Lukaku converted the winning penalty at the match, and then glared at home fans behind the goal as they led the monkey chants in him of Inter.
Everton ahead Moise Kean was subject to abuse after he played against Cagliari previous year, since was.
The league didn’t sanction Cagliari for either incident, nor did they perform if Sulley Muntari was mistreated by precisely the same team’s fans in 2017.
