(CNN) — It’s not an everyday phenomenon that a baseball pitcher receives a standing ovation from the audience when they earn their way into the mound.
However, Cleveland Indians celebrity Carlos Carrasco jogged on the area and had the 4,000-plus lovers as he stepped from the bullpen in the sixth inning.
The warm reception of carrasco was since he made his first minor league rehabilitation look.
“It feels good because people were supporting me the whole way,” Carrasco advised the MLB website. “From day until today.”

A sudden comeback
The Venezuelan overlooked the full 2012 MLB season after undergoing Tommy John surgery — ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction.
And on his path to come back from his leukemia identification, Indians manager Terry Francona said Carrasco pitched around 90-93 mph at a game.
However, the demonstrated he had more in the tank as on the very first pitch of his rehabilitation assignment using Cleveland’s AA affiliate in Akron. Carrasco fired at a 97 mph which amazed himself.
“You know what, it feels great because the very first time coming back in 2 and a half an hour without baseball and just a couple bullpens, possibly four or three bullpens, and also the very first pitch is 97 [mph],” Carrasco said.
“Right off, I return into the scoreboard because I only wanted to find out what was that pitch, and it had been 97 miles and it feels great.
“I was surprised because all my pitches were far different than before. My changeup, too.”

Returning to the big time
His ventures also have made him a beloved figure there if Carrasco’s on-field performances made him hot in Cleveland.
With the help of his wife the Venezuelan set up the Carlos Carrasco Foundation which funds early childhood education in Cleveland and back home in Venezuela.
Last Saturday, Francona said the strategy was supposed to keep Carrasco to the plan to facilitate him back and eventually back into the Major Leagues at Cleveland of a reliever.
“I believe when he began thinking about establishing as a newcomer, it sort of seemed somewhat daunting, a little far away,” the supervisor said.
But observing an outing that comprised 11 of the 16 pitches clocking in at higher or 94 mph, Carrasco’s yield could be sooner rather than later.
