ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 Format
The group stage of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 will observe a single set of ten groups, with each team playing the other two teams in a round-robin format. The top four teams at the conclusion of the group stage will advance to the knockout stage consisting of a final plus two semi-finals. The winner from each semi-final will then battle it out for the coveted trophy in the closing.

Shaun Marsh Out of CWC 2019 via Injury (05-July-2019)
Australia batsman Shaun Marsh has been ruled out using a fractured forearm of the rest of the Cricket World Cup 2019. He sustained the injury after being struck on his right forearm by a Pat Cummins delivery whilst practicing at the nets on the eve of their final league game against South Africa. The Australia team has announced wicketkeeper-batsman Peter Handscomb as a replacement for Marsh.

Sri Lanka pace bowler Nuwan Pradeep has been ruled from the remainder of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 and continues to be sent back home due to Chickenpox. Kasun Rajitha was known as a like-for-like replacement for Pradeep. He last played a one-day international earlier this year in March against South Africa.
Sayed Ahmad Shirzad Replaces Aftab Alam in Afghanistan World Cup Squad(27-June-2019)
The Afghanistan Cricket Board has eliminated pace bowler Aftab Alam from the group’s CWC 2019 squad as a consequence of his violation of the ICC’s disciplinary code of behavior. Left-arm seamer Sayed Ahmad Shirzad was named as Alam’s replacement for the remainder of the tournament.
Sunil Ambris Replaces Andre Russell in WI CWC Squad (26-June-2019)
Andre Russell was ruled out of this continuing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 due to a knee injury that had troubled him during the tournament. The West Indian all-rounder was substituted in the 15-man group by batsman Sunil Ambris that has represented his state in six one-day internationals, scoring 316 runs at an average of 105.33. Ambris is set to join with the group before the must-win tie against India on June 27.

The Indian team has been dealt a huge blow as opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan was ruled from the rest of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 due to a fractured left thumb. Dhawan, who sustained the injury while batting during the match against Australia, was under observation for over a week. The Indian team management has asked the ICC to get Rishabh Pant as a replacement for Dhawan in the squad.
Injured Shikhar Dhawan to Miss Three World Cup Matches (12-June-2019)
India opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan suffered a thumb injury in the match against Australia last Sunday and his involvement in the remainder of the World Cup is in doubt. Dhawan was hit on the thumb by a climbing Pat Cummins delivery and was later sent for scans which showed a hairline fracture. He is currently under the monitoring of the team direction and is set to miss India’s next three matches – against New Zealand, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Rishabh Pant has been called in as cover for Dhawan.
