Galway GAA have voiced their disappointment with their host, Supermac’s, following the fast-food series called in the county board for fiscal transparency.
The sponsor released a statement on Tuesday evening, detailing the way they’ve awarded Galway GAA $1.6m in the past five decades, and increased concerns about the way that it is being allocated.
It came as unwelcome PR at a time when the county groups’ situations are up in the air, for your Tribesmen’s administration.
In reaction, an announcement was issued by Galway GAA, called for a meeting involving the parties and hitting back at their host.
“Galway GAA is frustrated with the announcement, released by long-serving county sponsor, Supermac’s, about the sponsorship of the county teams,” read the announcement.
“The Galway County Committee acknowledges the long-standing, generous service of Pat McDonagh and Supermac’s into Galway GAA, that is beneficial to both parties.
“Galway GAA are delighted to affirm sponsorship, contributed by Supermac’s, proceeded towards the groundwork of all our inter-county groups in both codes. For purposes of precision , the plank would like to point out that in excess of $7.4m was spent by Galway GAA at the preparation of their soccer and hurling teams, to the highest standards, within the duration of the past five seasons, Supermac’s payoff has made a valued contribution to the overall price.
“Our teams have been included in All-Ireland semi-finals and finals in that period of time, ensuring high-profile and long attempts, within the class of the summers in query.
“Along with team preparation expenses, there’s also been significant capital expenditure on instruction facilities.”
They moved on to provide reassurances of their financial stability.
“We anticipate having the opportunity to talk about these matters with Pat McDonagh straight,” they reasoned.
