New Zealand Rugby have announced that former All Blacks centre next calendar year, Mark Robinson will succeed Steve Tew as chief executive.
Tew, that has been chief executive since 2007 disclosed he is going to step down from the job at the conclusion of the year.
Early next calendar year, robinson, who played with with nine tests for his nation, will take over the job.
He said:”I’m truly excited about what this opportunity offers.
“I have a clear vision to continue to develop the wonderful work already established under Steve’s view and recognise the significant duty we have in ensuring our match continues to flourish at all levels.”
Robinson had his career blighted by a series of accidents, later he retired returning to New Zealand as chief executive of the Taranaki Rugby Union.
Among his first tasks will be to build a relationship with Steve Hansen stepping down following the World Cup, with a new All Blacks coach.
