Ezekiel Elliott and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell at New York on Tuesday met to discuss a May incident in Las Vegas Between the Dallas Cowboys.
Elliott issued an apology for his conduct via Twitter.
“I have worked hard to make better choices and to fulfill the high standards that are expected of me,” Elliott wrote. “I failed to do here and I made a bad choice.”

The meeting between Elliott and Goodell was preceded by an episode in which the running back had a confrontation with a security guard. Elliott was detained but never detained after being siphoned from the back, after the guard fell.
Elliott is subject to suspension or a fine under the league’s personal conduct policy despite never being charged with a crime. According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, sources have suggested that they do not expect Elliott to be suspended.
The NFL has not yet issued a statement on Tuesday’s meeting.
Joining Elliott at New York for the meeting were members of Cowboys counselor, sources told Garafolo.
This is not the time Goodell and Elliott have met to talk about the Cowboys running back behaviour.
Elliott was suspended six games in 2017 for breaking up the personal conduct policy. The suspension came into domestic violence accusations made against Elliott.
Tuesday’s assembly reads like a warning against the NFL to Elliott to wash up his behaviour while it does not appear a suspension will stem out of this latest altercation. The 23-year-old All-Pro says he heard that message loud and clear.
“I want to work harder to ensure I do not put myself in endangered situations later on,” Elliott wrote Tuesday. “I am rededicating myself to use each of the resources that the team has made available.
“But in the end, it is all up to me and I’m determined not to be in this position again.”
