It wasn’t quite like the assault on Tuesday, but the Dodgers opened up another blowout win about the Miami Marlins last night at Marlins Park. On the insides of a 15-1 win, the Dodgers did not slow down and slammed the Marlins with a score of 9-1. Justin Turner opened up the scoring with a solo shot Eliaser Hernandez along with the Dodgers kept attacking.
The crime provedn’t the ones getting following it. For a second consecutive night, the Dodgers acquired output signal from both their offensive and pitching units. Clayton Kershaw was on fire and got through half of this game with a great game. He left the competition with just two hits given and 10 strikeouts. If their turning can fire on all cylinders such as this come October, then the Dodgers are going to be a hopeless outside in the postseason.
We have to keep in mind this really was the Miami Marlins which Dustin May and Kershaw chewed up and spit out, however. The Marlins would be the worst offense in the major leagues and they have struggled to score. Nevertheless, Kershaw has frustrated a great deal of hitters and May is the top pitching prospect in the Dodgers’ system.
Next up from the rotation to get the Dodgers is Walker Buehler. He’s another option in their rotation that is mortal on the bump as well. There are not too many rotations in baseball who can lose two associates and still fire like this.
The Indians are having success without Corey Kluber and Carlos Carrasco, and the Dodgers remain thriving without Rich Hill and Ross Stripling. Buehler will find the phone against Caleb Smith, who’s expecting that the Dodger bats are done with hitting the laces off the ball this afternoon. Head below for our free Dodgers vs. Marlins pick.

The Yankees sent Caleb Smith to the Marlins within this Giancarlo Stanton deal a Few Years Back. He has been showing some steady progress and has been a bright spot in an otherwise down season for the Marlins. After posting an ERA of 7.71 in nine appearances with the Yankees at 2017, Smith improved on that in his first time in Miami. Smith submitted a 4.19 ERA in 16 starts and has improved on that figure, at least thus far.
Having a significant blow late in the season, he is going to have an ERA under 4.00 for the first time in his young important league career. His final outing is just one to overlook, with allowed 10 hits and 6 earned runs in 4.2 innings against the Braves. In his past three outings, Smith has already posted a 5.94 ERA and 1.56 WHIP in 16.2 innings. Against this red-hot Dodgers’ offense, he must expect to perform better than Yamamoto and Hernandez, however that still might not deliver the Marlins close to a win here.
Walker Buehler has ever had his strategy against the Marlins in the past. They’re hitting only .211 without the home runs against him in 57 at-bats. Overall, not many clubs have been in a position to strike Buehler challenging this year. It isn’t just the awful Marlins’ crime, that are dead last in the majors in runs scored per match. Buehler posted an ERA of 2.21 and also 1.13 WHIP in his past three outings.
He has surrendered only 1-run at 15 innings of work and allowed no or 1 runs in three of his last four starts. The Dodgers are rolling and I really don’t find it stopping on Thursday. Don’t anticipate a beatdown like we watched the past two days, but the Dodgers probably still have control throughout this game to get a 6-3 or even 5-2 victory.
