Realistically, myriad seasons need to come to pass until the final verdict will be read upon if the Arizona Cardinals’ choice to trade 2018 first-round selection Josh Rosen to the Miami Dolphins and begin anew with another quarterback, 2019 first-round selection Kyler Murray, has been the right move to make.
However, present Cardinals running back David Johnson believes the Cards and Fins will every be winners, as he recently prognosticated both signal-callers have magnificent NFL careers ahead of them.
“I believe [Rosen’]s going to wind up being one of the very dominant quarterbacks in this league,” Johnson told Adam Schein on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio.
So that is good news for fans.
However, what about the Cardinals faithful as it relates to the man who Johnson will discuss the backfield with?
“He’s definitely going to be great,” Johnson said of Murray. “It’s going to be frightening for D-linemen. I remember I was just talking to Chandler [Jones], he has to sort of hesitate when he chases [Murray] down”
While Johnson considers good luck is to come in the desert as it relates to Murray, he also knows there are lots who doubt Murray’s skillset. He had words to them too.
“Folks are really underestimating his ability to throw,” Johnson stated. “He can throw dimes and he could throw the ball down the field, he has been throwing it deep to Christian [Kirk], to those guys in the OTAs… these guards are going to have to definitely practice against a scrambler like him”
Everything seems in line for Murray to overcome any newcomer’s first barrier of garnering a starting spot.
However, approximately 3,000 miles away in Miami, Rosen has a stiff competition for its first-string endeavor with Ryan Fitzpatrick. In certain ways it almost sounds as though it is par for Rosen’s course following the roller-coaster ride which saw him go from the Cardinals into the Dolphins following his rookie season.
“I definitely feel bad for Josh, what happened to him, the situation he was put in,” Johnson said.
Nevertheless, Rosen has discovered a new team and Murray has been proclaimed as the Cardinals’ quarterback of the future.
Johnson’s vision predictions seasons of success will come to fruition for the rookie Cardinal and sophomore Dolphin, alike.
