Dejan Lovren says he is not happy sitting about the Liverpool bench but is relieved his move saga is finished for today.
The Croatia centre-half has confirmed he wanted to leave Anfield during the summer after falling from Joel Matip Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez at the final order of Jurgen Klopp.
Clubs such as AC Milan but Liverpool and Roma targeted lovren and Klopp insisted they desired to stay.
“I really feel relief that the transfer window is still closed. I got tired of reading and listening daily about me staying or leaving in Liverpool,” Lovren told Croatian newspaper Sportske Novotsti.
“Everybody composed’Dejan is Dejan is that there’, and understood nothing. It annoyed me. (But) yes, I did consider moving. It didn’t happen, I was told Liverpool wants me and I recognized that, although I wished to leave.
“I am not the kind of player that likes to be benched and earn money. Some people around me advised me’what exactly do you care? You are in a major club, shut up, have the cash’ – but I am happy about the seat.
“I’m very happy because all of the time I felt LFC was by me. I respect that a great deal. Klopp told me’listen, buddy, you’re a player. We will not let you go on loan. We need you’.
“Last week I spoke to Klopp againhe said he knows me, knows I am not happy, but he also said’look, now it is completed, I’d like you to reset your head, I detect you significant’.
“I’m in my prime era, in great shape, mentally prepared and you cannot buy experience.”
