Ex-Liverpool striker Dean Saunders has won his appeal against a prison sentence for failing to take a breath test after being stopped on suspicion of drink driving.
Saunders, 55, was jailed for 10 weeks by District Judge Nicholas Sanders when he looked on August 28 in Chester Magistrates Court, after admitting failing to offer a breath specimen and failing to comply with a breath test.
After spending a day at the races, he was stopped by a police patrol at Chester city center on May 10.
Saunders spent just 1 day in custody and has been granted bail after his attorneys found an appeal against his jail sentence.
On Friday, Honorary Recorder of Chester, Judge Steven Everett, quashed the instant jail sentence and instead suspended the prison sentence that was 10-week for 18 weeks.
Saunders was ordered to do job. His street ban remains.
