Dyche said on Thursday at his press conference before Saturday’s trip to Leicester:”Johann Gudmundsson won’t be imagining.
“Unfortunately he got injured on international duty, a pretty serious hamstring injury, therefore it surely will not be days, it is going to be like weeks and that I really don’t know how many yet, but it’s serious enough to talk in that way.”
Dyche also said ex-Leicester midfielder Danny Drinkwater, on loan at Burnley from Chelsea, is”making progress but not really there” with respect to his own recovery from an ankle injury.
A late call will be created on midfielder Jack Cork, that missed the 1-0 triumph over Everton out time because of shoulder issue, and ahead Ashley Barnes (groin) ahead of Saturday’s match.
Dyche stated:”Corky is a touch and go along using his shoulder blade injury, a nice break, and Ashley Barnes has a tight buttocks, therefore we are going to have to make judgement calls .
“It’s not a no though – that is going to be a judgement call on the risk and benefits of playing”
Looks set to be available this week, having coached.
The competition at the King Power Stadium is really a battle between two sides that have made adequate begins.
Leicester, below Dyche colleague Brendan Rodgers, are in the table, three locations and 2 points better than Burnley, whose last four games have seen them draw and win.
Dyche, who was on the training team at Watford when Rodgers was manager in the club in 2008-09, stated:”So much the performances have been good.
“It sounds simple doesn’t it? Four unbeaten in the Premier League. It is not straightforward. We certainly admire that, we all know we’ve had to make it and we’ll have to keep on doing this.”
