MMAOddsBreaker.com can now formally confirm UFC Heavyweight Stipe Miocic has been forced from his forthcoming UFC Fight Night 76 bout against Ben Rothwell due to an unspecified training accident. Both top 10 fighters were scheduled to throw in the co-main event of following Saturday’s (October 24, 2015) event in Dublin, Ireland, which will be headlined by the lightweight battle between Joseph Duffy and Dustin Poirier and will be streamed live on UFC Fight Pass. Miocic (#3 ranked HW) was coming off the most remarkable performance of his career, a fifth round TKO stoppage of former title challenger Mark Hunt where he place a UFC heavyweight record for the majority of strikes landed in a single struggle. He has won four of the last five fights with his only loss being a decision against former champion Junior dos Santos. Rothwell (#7 rated HW) is currently riding a three-fight win streak which comprised surprising first round angry stoppage victories over both Matt Mitrione and Alistair Overeem. There has been no word as to whether UFC matchmakers will be able to find a last minute replacement for Miocic or when Rothwell is going to probably be forced off the fight card.
