General Betting Rules
Bet Types
“Match” (aka 1X2) is the place it is likely to wager on the (semi or definite) result of a match or event. The choices are:”1″ = Home team/Player 1, or the player recorded to the left side of the deal;”X” = Draw/Tie, or the selection at the middle;”2″ = Away team/Player two, or the participant listed to the ideal side of this offer. In particular instances or specific competitions, 888 might display an offer from the so-called”American” format (ie: Away Team @ Home Team), in which the sponsor group is listed following the visiting team. No matter the positioning of those groups on the board/betslip, the references to”Home” and”Off” teams will constantly refer to the real teams playing at home (sponsor ) and off (visitor) respectively, as determined from the official business.
“Correct Score” (aka Result Betting) is where it is likely to bet on the (semi or definite) precise score of a match or event.
“Over/Under” (aka Totals) is where it’s possible to bet on the (semi or definite) level of a predefined phenomenon (e.g. targets, points, corners, rebounds, penalty minutes, etc.). Should the whole sum of the listed occurrences be just equal to the gambling line, then all bets on this deal will be declared void. Case in point: an offer in which the gambling line is 128.0 points and the game ends with the outcome 64-64 will be declared void.
“Odd/Even” is where it is possible to wager on the (partial or certain ) level of a predefined occurrence (e.g. goals, points, corners, rebounds, penalty minutes, etc.). “Odd” is 1,3,5 etc.; “Even” is 0,2,4 etc..
A”Head-to-Head” or”Triple-Head” is a competition between two or three participants/outcomes, originating from either an officially ordered event, or else, as virtually characterized by 888.
“Half time/Full time” is where it is likely to bet on the result in half an evening and the final outcome of the game. E.g. if at all period that the score is 1-0 and the match ends 1-1, the winning result is 1/X. The bet is void in the event the normal period of this match is played in a different time format than those recorded in the bet (i.e. besides just two halves).
“Period betting” is where it is likely to bet on the outcome of each separate period in a match/event. E.g.. In the event the interval scores in an ice hockey game are 2-0 / 0-1 / 1-1, the winning outcome is 1/2/X. The bet is void in the event the normal time of the match is performed in a different time format than those recorded in the wager (i.e. besides three phases ).
“Draw No Bet” is where it is likely to bet on either”1″ or”two” as defined in”Section B, Para 2.1″. It’s also common practice to refer to”Draw No Bet” in cases where no draw chances can be found. Should the specific match comprise no winner (E.g. match ends as a draw), or the specific occurrence not occur (E.g. First Goal, Draw No Bet and also game ends 0-0) the bets will be reimbursed.
“Handicap” is where it’s likely to wager on whether the selected outcome will be successful once the recorded handicap is added/subtracted (as important ) into the match/period/total score to which the bet refers to. In these circumstances in which the result after the alteration of the disability line is just equal to the gambling line, then all bets on this deal will be declared void. Example: a bet on -3.0 goals will be declared void if the group chosen wins the game by exactly 3 goals difference (3-0,4-1, 5-2, etc). Any reference in this section into the term”margin” is intended to be understood as the consequence emerging from the subtraction of this goals/points scored by both teams/participants.
Unless otherwise mentioned all handicaps listed on 888 website should be calculated depending on the outcome from the beginning of the listed match/period towards the conclusion of the specified match/period. It’s however customary that for certain handicap bet offers in specific sports (Asian Handicap in Soccer ), only the results obtained from the period of bet positioning until the conclusion of this listed timeframe will be taken under account, thus disregarding any goals/points scored ahead of the time the bet was placed and approved. Any bet offer with these attributes will be clearly displayed on website and highlighted in the punter’s Bet History together with the score in the time of wager positioning.
There are 3 distinct”handicap betting” formats:
2-way Handicap: Team A (-1.5) vs Team B (+1.5)
Example:
Team A is given a -1.5 goal handicap in the match. For the wager to be won, Team A should win the match with a perimeter equal or larger than the listed handicap (ie. Two goals or more).
Team B is given a +1.5 goal advantage in the game. For the wager to be won, Team B must either win the game, match finish in a draw or not lose with a margin equal or larger than their recorded advantage (ie. Lose with a 1 goal margin).
3-way Handicap: Team A (-2) Draw (Just 2) Team B (+2)
Example:
Team A is given a 2 goal handicap from the match. For the wager to be won, Team A should win the match with a larger margin than the listed disability (ie. 3 goals or more).
Draw are the victorious outcome should the game wind up with the recorded margin (ie. Match ends with outcomes like 2-0, 3-1 and 4-2).
Team B is given a two goal advantage in the game. For the wager to be won, Team B should either win the game, match finish in a draw or not lose with a perimeter equal or larger than their recorded advantage (ie. Shed with only a 1 goal margin).
Asian Handicap: Team A (-1.75) vs Team B (+1.75)
Example:
Team A is given a -1.75 goal handicap from the match. This usually means that the bet is divided into 2 equal bets and put on the outcomes -1.5 and -2.0. For the wager to be paid out in the recorded odds, Team A must win the game with a bigger margin than both of the recorded handicaps (ie. 3 goals or more gross income ). In the eventuality that Team A wins with just a two goal margin, the wager will be considered as partially won with a complete payout over the -1.5 part of the wager and a refund on the -2.0 side because the result on that component of the bet could be regarded as a”tie”. Should the match produce any other result, including a Team A success with just 1 aim of margin, the whole bet will be lost.
Team B is given a +1.75 aim advantage in the game. This means that the stake is divided into 2 equal bets and placed on the results +1.5 and +2.0. For the bet to be paid out at the listed odds, Team B should either win the match, match finish in a draw or not shed with a margin equal or bigger than some of the listed advantages (ie. Lose with only a 1 goal margin). In the eventuality which Team B falls with exactly a 2 goal margin, the wager will be regarded as partially lost with a refund on the -2.0 portion of the bet and a reduction on the -1.5 part of the wager. If the game create any other result which leads to a defeat of Team B with a margin of 3 or more goals, the whole bet would be missing.
“Dual Chance” is where it’s possible to wager concurrently on two (semi or definite) results of a match or event. The options are: 1X, 12 and X2 with”1″,”X” and”two” as described in”Section B, Para 2.1″.
“Outright” or”Place” betting is where it’s possible to choose from a list of alternatives and wager on the eventuality that a player wins or places within a predetermined place in the classification of their listed event/competition. Should two or more participants share finishing positions, the payoff will based according to the definition of”Section B, Para 5.14″.
An”Every Way” bet (aka EW) refers to a wager where the chosen choice must either Win or Place within the payout provisions. The bet is split in 2 components (the”Win” part and the”Position” part) of an equal bet. Settlement of such stakes will take into account the rules regulating the”Win” and”Place” stakes, namely the Sport-specific rules also as”Section B, Para 5, Clause 11″.
“Goal minutes” is where it’s possible to wager on the sum of the minutes once the goals are scored. When settling these bets, goals scored in injury time of both halves are to be deemed as having been scored in the 45th minute in the event the goal was scored in the first half injury time and the 90th minute in the event the goal was scored in the second half injury time. Goals will not count towards the settlement of player’s’target minutes’.
