It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you believe about that, you’ll do things differently. -Warren Buffet
If more companies — namely online sportsbooks and casinos — followed this advice, betting online would be far more enjoyable…and much less stressful.
I’d wager that BetOnline wishes they did. They’ve made decisions a couple of years back that is probably cost them tens of thousands of thousands, maybe even millions of dollars, due to lost business from bad PR.
We’ll be sharing some cases of these with you in our review. Because while we wholeheartedly suggest BetOnline to our visitors — and believe that now they’re a trusted and legit gaming company — we believe you have the right to know the whole story before deciding to play with here.

WHAT DID BETONLINE DO?

First Things First: What Did BetOnline Do You?
What just did BetOnline do to make a lot of people mad?
We think a better question is this: what didn’t they do?
BetOnline’s poor decisions spans the spectrum of shady behavior, which range from telling likes to withholding money to getting poor security.
There are plenty of examples we can show you. But LegitGamblingSites.com has already done the job for us. They uncovered several instances, which you can find for yourself in their BetOnline review.
Here is our TL;DR variant:
BetOnline Told a Fib
After BetOnline first introduced their poker product, they lied about what network it was on. They first claimed to be on the Hero Poker Network, though they were really on the Action Poker Network. There were also stories about how they had been about the Chico Poker Network, but then were kicked off.
Afterwards reports (from BetOnline) indicated that things were fine and mended, which BetOnline had been (and still is) on the Chico Poker Network.
Odd thing to enjoy, eh? (Although we might lie too if we had been on a shoddy network like Action.)
Everybody agrees that BetOnline lying was a dumb move and a lousy way to advertise a new item. It doesn’t exude confidence. Plus it makes you wonderwhy would they lie about something so trivial in the first location?
$60,000 Confiscated for No Reason
There have already been many, MANY reports about BetOnline confiscating money from clients. The justification was almost always because the client allegedly cheated, although no proof was provided from BetOnline (in the cases we’ve read).
1 case that caught our attention was of an expert who had 60,000+ confiscated because BetOnline said he cheated. They refused to send him his hands, but did offer to send him the hand histories which showed him jobless (for proof).
He got them . What he did get was empty promises about the way they were on the way, and also the runaround when they showed up. They eventually told him they could not send him the hand histories since the documents were too big.
(Anyone who understands anything regarding internet poker and hand histories — let alone about downloading files to your own computer — knows what a crock that is. And, why would not you send proof someone cheated if you have nothing to hide?)
Finally Sportsbook Review (SBR) got involved and helped the participant get his cash back. His last update mentions being alleviated about the way it worked out for him personally , but also said the same thing happened to his friend.
Chip Dumping $50 Means You Had BetOnline $30,000+
In this example the player didn’t anything wrong — he chip-dumped into his friend. But here’s the kicker:
He also chip-dumped to his buddy at a HEADS UP table at which no one else would be hurt. He did it so his friend could have an additional $50 to play with at BetOnline.
The humorous part is that they were playing from precisely the same house at the moment. Most sites wouldn’t even let two individuals from the exact same IP address sit down at exactly the exact same table but BetOnline did.
The person had his account suspended (far after the fact, whereas most sites would’ve captured it much earlier ), which no disputes or thinks was a wrong move on BetOnline’s part. What’s however, is how they needed to also take his 37,000 he earned because that incident.
Forum members indicated that many legit sites would not have allowed two individuals from the exact same IP to sit in the same table. And, if they did, as soon as they guessed chip dumping had happened, the participant’s accounts would come under inspection. He’d never have the opportunity to earn the $37,000.
However, now that he did, BetOnline desired it. But, technically, the cash should go to whomever was hurt by this player’s actions (which was no one). So it’s ridiculous BetOnline believes they should have the ability to keep it.
BetOnline Knows Your Own Passwords
The previous example we want to talk about is an instance in which a BetOnline rep outed how the staff understood their client’s passwords and login numbers. It is possible to see the live chat log here.
The original poster has a good point. If everybody in the business has access to your login information, what is stopping them from running a VPN, logging into accounts and accepting your money?
The BetOnline rep didn’t have a good answer, just a”ha ha ok sir.”
Scary stuff. Scroll down the discussion thread and you’ll see even more examples. It is ridiculous.
What is even more absurd is how these instances are a drop in the bucket compared to the sheer number of (similar) complaints against them. A quick Google search for”BetOnline scams” will keep you occupied.
Then BetOnline Does One Funny: They Acquire SportsBetting.ag
During precisely the same time BetOnline was struggling, SportsBetting.ag was unable to. They were struggling to pay their customers.
Thent a few months later a story broke — BetOnline obtained SportsBetting.ag.
The crazy part was not so much the purchase, it was the simple fact that BetOnline also agreed to be on the hook for all of the current and past payouts. Even after all of their stingy-like shenanigans.
An excerpt from SBR:
Most importantly, the new investment team is committed for SportsBetting.ag winners compensated at a more expedited manner.
“The new shareholders unconditionally guarantee past and future payouts from SportsBetting.ag,” the rep said. “But as there’s a large backlog of pending payouts, they have to be run through different fraud checks, fulfilled and guaranteed. When the backlog is finished, customers will experience drastically enhanced payouts thanks in part to updated payment choices, including same day options.”
No one knows precisely how much BetOnline had to make in previous payments. In fact, BetOnline was reportedly”shocked” for over $1.5 million in liabilities that was not reported by the previous management. I think it’d be safe to presume that the past debts exceeded $1.5 million — and seemingly BetOnline has paid it all off.
What Does That Mean for BetOnline in 2019? What Does That Mean for You?
Honestly, we’ve had a hard time finding anything negative to report about BetOnline from within the past year or so.
There are some complaints; ordinary stuff all businesses face that we will address in the future in our inspection when it makes sense. Nonetheless, it looks to us like the vast majority of BetOnline’s problems are over.
They have satisfied customers, if you can believe it.
Now, what exactly does this mean for you? In the event you forgive and forget? Are they safe enough for you to join, make a deposit and playwith? We’ll be honest — there is no way we would’ve played at BetOnline back in 2011-2012 if we’d known or heard about any of those reports above. Nobody in their right mind would. You would be safer light your cash on fire.
And we also don’t wish to downplay the mistakes they have made. Lying, making baseless accusations, withholding funds and insecure applications isn’t to be dismissed.
But as purchasing SportsBetting.ag and incorporating new management to manage operations, things have improved drastically. So much so that we’re comfortable today urging them to our subscribers.
And it is not just us. If you have a look at other BetOnline reviews, then you will see similar thought processes. In most cases the reviewers condemned them for their actions (in 2011-2012) and recommended NOT playing there, simply to have a change of heart once they saw just how much BetOnline changed.
So, here’s where we stand on the matter —
BetOnline has made mistakes and is far from a perfect sportsbook, poker room or casino. They had and continue to have their own shortcomings, the most recent of which we emphasize in our review under.
But, as best as we can tell, they have righted their wrongs and continue to improve on what they offer players. We feel secure using accounts here.
It is up to you to decide if you feel the identical way.
2019 Main Review of BetOnline
Together with their past out of the way, let us jump into what’s important now — and that’s what BetOnline offers in terms of banking, gambling choices and promotions.
Deposit and Cash Out Options, Fees and Time Frames
BetOnline offers a solid choice of banking options. However, you’ll want to keep in mind that what is available for you will probably be determined by your geographical area.
Let us begin with their deposit choices.

The largest complaint about deposits are their 6% fees for debit and credit cards. They are one of the only websites which charge for (credit/debit card) deposits. Bovada’s among those additional ones, charging 4.9%.
Cash Outs

What I do not like is how you’ll pay a commission for every single banking option. Even bitcoin, which is typically free at most sportsbooks and casinos. But here you are going to pay a 2% commission.
That said, I have seen firsthand reports from customers who say they have received payments within 10 days, bank transfers within 3 days and bank cables in 2-3 days. This is quickly considering they are in the US marketplace.
BetOnline says nothing about it on their website, but I’ve seen reports that suggest BetOnline gives you a $50 credit monthly if you place in your request on a Friday. In many cases this won’t cover the entire fee, but it is better than nothing.
BetOnline’s Products: Just What Would You Bet On or Play?
BetOnline is an”all in one” business. This means you can bet on sports betting, play casino and poker games.
Their longest standing, and probably most popular solution, is that their sportsbook. So let’s begin there.
Bet on Sports, Horses and Financials
BetOnline provides action on horses, sports and financing.
Within their sportsbook they more or less cover the most well-known sports in america. Those include:
Auto racing
Baseball
Basketball
Boxing
Cricket
Darts
Football Golf
Hockey
Martial arts
Rugby
Snooker
Football Tennis
Lacrosse
Softball
Olympics
eSports
You can also wager on futures and prop bets on these markets:
Canadian Soccer Cycling
Formula One
Darts
Hockey
Horses
Professional Football
College Football
Pro Baseball
Pro Basketball
College Basketball
Women’s Pro Basketball (WNBA)
Rugby
Football 1 option they’ve added lately is eSports. It is no surprise really, given how quickly the business is growing. Each bookmaker is jumping on the bandwagon and offering odds on all the biggest tournaments and leagues.
BetOnline is, too, even though it looks like they’re only dipping their toe in the water to check the temperature.
I say that because — as of right now — they just have moneyline odds for a single match-up / league. Compare that to Bovada who’s covering 5+ matches across about 10+ leagues/tournaments.
It is a large difference. I mean, who would you rather go to for eSports betting?
That having been said, I think it’s a fantastic idea to give BetOnline the benefit of the doubt…for now. It’s possible they are still trying to find their bearings in this developing marketplace. Maybe they have plans to expand their eSports options in the near future.
What they do have going for them is their odds on the match-up I’m comparing to Bovada. They’re offering marginally better pricing to the same exact match.
There’s no way to tell whether that’s always going to be true, nor can it matter whether they never enlarge this part of their sportsbook.
However, it’s reason enough to keep tabs on them.
They provide live betting also. These options vary continuously, of course, to match with what events or games are moving on. When I last looked they’d lines for football, baseball and tennis. You might also keep tabs on a couple games simultaneously utilizing their multi-event tab and plan for future games with their live betting calendar.
1 thing they are known for are their higher-than-average betting limitations. These range from $1 to $25,000. Most markets will probably max out between $1,000 to $3,000. But it just depends. It is also possible to raise your wagering levels by contacting their Player Services.
Their sportsbook also runs a fair number of promotions, and far more than you’ll find in their own racebook and financials segment combined. A few of the better options include:
50% Welcome Bonus — Get a 50% match on your initial deposit up to $2,500.50% Kickoff Reload — Get a 50% reload bonus up to $1,000. Live Bet Free Play — Get a $25 free play. This is more or less insurance — make a bet and if you lose, they’ll reimburse you around $25.
Beyond that you’ll see a listing of races on their main webpage. Each record tells you how many open races there are, which when you click it will expand to reveal the races, horses, jockeys and chances.
If you are unfamiliar with their website or horse betting, a good section to search through is that their racebook info tab within their navigation. Here you’ll find information on:
Their monitor limits. This tells you the max you can bet per race.Payoff chances. Find out how much you will make if your bet(s) win.Their principles and the kinds of bets you may make.Horse betting hints, FAQs and phrases (in case you don’t know what a word or phrase means).
It’s a fantastic section if you are new to horse gambling.
And that’s about it. This segment is far smaller than their sportsbook.
Nevertheless, their racebook does have a few offers also, though nowhere near the caliber or quantity that their sportsbook offers.
Here are some of these offers:
Track Rebate — Get a 7% rebate on your bets daily with no min volume or caps on how much you can earn. $25 Risk Free Bet — Create a wager for the very first time from the racebook. In the event you shed BetOnline will refund you up to $25.
Last up is that their financials section. Here it is possible to bet on currencies, indices and commodities. Your gambling options include signature, array, turbo and a single touch. The assets/markets it is possible to wager on will depend on your wager type.
This section looks to be an afterthought. It certainly doesn’t get the attention or advertising BetOnline’s other segments do.
Their poker room is among the most popular alternatives for Americans. They’re a part of the Chico Poker Network, who’s 13th in overall traffic positions, but is 3rd for US poker sites. After I last checked they’d about 2,100 players on their website.
In 2016 BetOnline conducted a much-needed software upgrade. In the past they had several complaints about the standard of the software. This included complaints about blurry graphics, bad sound and animation quality.
But following their upgrade we’ve seen hints that they might have some of the best applications in the US market.
From worst to best at 1 update? That might be pushing it. But based on the pictures I have seen, their software DOES look much better.
But, there are still several areas BetOnline can improve.
Right now they have a download for PC and Macs. However, they don’t have some options for mobile players, which we think is a no-brainer in this day and age. Additionally they only offer holdem, omaha and 7-card stud. It would be nice to see more game choices.
Overall, though, it is nice to see they are making advancements and are getting more competitive with what other top tier US poker sites provide.
Speaking of that, some of their poker promotions or offers include:
Welcome Bonus — They’ll match your deposit 100% up to a max of $2,500. They pay out this to you 5 at one time. You will have 60 days to clean the deal. $50,000 GTD — They’re operating a $50,000 warranty for $99. $90,000 Guaranteed — BetOnline promises more than $90,000 in tournament prize pools each and every weekend.
They have a few leaderboard and cash race challenges, too.
And it is not exactly a”bonus,” but the matches here must be softer because of the US traffic along with the crossover traffic from their sportsbook or casino. Making money from their poker tables ought to be simpler here compared to other poker (only) sites.
Casino and Skill Games
Here you’ll find lots of game options ranging from table games to slots to video poker and skill games. Their matches come from the Rival Gambling and BetSoft software, each of which are known for producing games that are topnotch. Here’s how their games breakdown:
9 blackjack variants.13 table games.19 regular slots also 37 3D slots.17 video poker games.Live traders for blackjack, roulette and baccarat.

LIVE CHAT (for real money accounts only)
1 thing to find here are the reports I’ve seen about how BetOnline’s service is unfriendly.
One example came from a poker player turned website reviewer. He shared his expertise, which was among the worst I have heard ever, let alone heard about BetOnline.
Here’s an excerpt from Gaming the Odds:
Considering that BetOnline’s poker software isn’t high quality, I expected them to shine at client service. How else can you explain the popularity of their poker room?
Turns out I was wrong, big-time. In reality, during their live chat support (and that I just need to mention it in this BetOnline review)I had the worst customer service experience in my entire life up to now.
Following the live chat session started, I needed to wait a couple of minutes until the customer service person bothered to answer, not only entirely ignoring my question but asking for my username and password too. Can you feel comfortable entering your username and password into a live chat box? I sure did not.
I clarified that I do not wish to enter that information to a chat room and, more importantly, the query requires no such information because it had been about BetOnline.ag in general. I had to wait ten more minutes for”help” (I use that word loosely ), while getting”Thanks for waiting. I’ll be with you in only a minute…” every now and then.
That said, I have also heard that the opposite. A reviewer that actively plays on BetOnline says they provide exceptional customer service. He also states that your best choice is to benefit from the live chat (only available to account holders).
Their experiences are polar opposites. This implies to people that BetOnline may have inconsistencies with how they handle customer support…an
