Head coach Justin Langer has denied Jack Leach was being mocked by Steve Smith after their fourth Test victory which saw the group retain the Ashes.
Adhering to the people 185-run triumph in Manchester, Smith envisioned stepped wiping a set of eyeglasses before showing-batting left-handed just as the England spinner does.
“Experience tells me when you’re doing well, folks will attempt to pick holes in you,” Langer said. “I understand the fact, Chris Rogers is a wonderful partner of the squad, that’s all it’s about.
“Individuals will make up things they like about it, but that’s the truth. Everyone around the globe has seen the excellent soul the World Cup and this show has been played in.”
Smith’s party appeared to become a parody of both Leach, who was made to wipe his eyeglasses often as he resolutely maintained the bowlers out through the third Test at Headingley.
Having played with a role in helping England win the game, Leach returned to Yorkshire pitch to re-enact one he scored during his unbeaten innings.
But, Langer considers the celebrations were muted because follows soon.
“That celebration was two out of 10 to a number of those I have seen since we knew we had to play three days afterwards,” he added.
