Arsenal expect to have the ability to report a clean bill of health as the team return from duty – and head coach Unai Emery could soon see his options fostered.
The Gunners will restart Premier League action off to Watford live on Sky Sports, in what’s going to be Quique Sanchez Flores’ first game in charge after his return to Vicarage Road.
Forward Nicolas Pepe had returned from Ivory Coast’s coaching camp to work on establishing his match fitness, with club sources going to allay concerns over a new injury worry.
Arsenal confirmed none had so far indicated any fitness issues that were fresh.
A club statement read:”All players that were on international duty will have returned to us by Thursday morning. No global players have reported injuries in this age.
“However, all international players will be evaluated before Sunday’s match.”
Arsenal’s update on the team’s official web site confirmed defender Rob Holding was”now back into full training with the first group squad” after his long term knee issue.
Full-back Hector Bellerin, meanwhile, is also”progressing nicely” with ongoing rehabilitation from his very own cruciate ligament injury suffered at the beginning of 2019, and”aiming to participate in complete training” later this month.
Scotland global Kieran Tierney”continues to get treatment and further evaluations” about the groin problem which has delayed his debut after joining from Celtic before the transfer deadline.
The full-back is expected to be in contention again along with Greek defender Konstantinos Mavropanos.
Arsenal drew 2-2 ahead of the break, which left them with north London rivals Tottenham.
Midfielder Joe Willock withdrew from the England Under-21 team since he carried a calf problem, which is not predicted to help keep him.
