The US Open wheelchair singles Summit was retained by alfie Hewett from Stephane Houdet of France.
The 21-year-old from Norwich edged a tight first set on Court 11 after a tie-break outside.
He led 4-1 in the second set but had been pegged back from Houdet prior to shooting another tie-break to finish a 7-6 (11-9) 7-6 (7-5) victory.
Hewett said:”I was disappointed not to be about a bigger courtroom, but I have never dropped on this court so thank you to whoever made that choice.
“Thanks to everyone back home, it’s good to win and to defend the title.”
Hewett claimed another title in the doubles together with the Gordon Reid of Scotland.
Meanwhile, the Eastcote’s Andy Lapthorne won the wheelchair quad singles with a victory over Dylan Alcott. Lapthorne, who lost inside the Wimbledon final of this year to Australian Alcott, won 6-1 to grow his 2014 US Open triumph.
Lapthorne and Alcott subsequently tied to win the doubles final, 6-7 (5-7) 6-1 10-6 after a game tie-break from American pair Bryan Barton and David Wagner.
