The Green Bay Packers held on to win 21-16 after the Minnesota Vikings had stormed back from three touchdowns down.
Aaron Rodgers began hot in the first half, pitching two touchdowns – to Jamaal Williams along with Geronimo Allison – while Aaron Jones driven in from 2 yards out to give Green Bay a seemingly insurmountable lead.
The Vikings didn’t put down.
Their defense forced two fumbles since they looked to complete a comeback, and shut down Rodgers for the remainder of the game.
75 yards raced in reaction to the finish zone after their lead had been shot by the Packers.
The Vikings came out since the stronger team in the second after incorporating a Dan Bailey field goal before the half.
Early in the next quarter, a 45-yard spiral was established by Kirk Cousins to Stefon Diggs and he took it directly from a defender’s arms to the score.
As Diggs was penalised for unsportsmanlike conduct, however, the shortage remained at five factors and Bailey’s extra-point effort was blocked.
Factors were exchanged by both teams before the Vikings pounded the ball deep with Cook and Alexander Mattison into Green Bay land leading the way late in the fourth quarter.
Using a first-and-goal in the eight-yard line, Cousins rolled and strove to force a large ball in the rear of the end zone to Diggs, but Kevin King with a diving catch intercepted it.
The Vikings had the ball but were forced to punt, and the clock ran down leaving Cousins one closing Hail Mary effort that fell far short, when Rodgers discovered Davante Adams for a new set of downs.
