Eddie Hearn has questioned whether Tyson Fury can fulfil his aspirations of regaining a world title after accepting’simple’ struggles in prep.
Former world champion Fury asserts following 28, it will set up a rematch from WBC titleholder Deontay Wilder and faces Otto Wallin on Saturday at Las Vegas.
“Fury has easy fights that nobody is considering,” said Anthony Joshua’s promoter Hearn. “He assumed to be the best heavyweight in the world? Nobody is speaking about his fight.
“The curiosity in Fury is diminishing. It is almost a year since he battled Wilder and what’s occurred? Nothing.”
Asked if Fury could be tempted to combat Joshua finally, Hearn said:”Fury is a competitor and is up for a fight, however, he’s having fights where he can’t get beaten. His profile will dip and his hunger might also.”
Has been critical of Fury’s decision.
Joshua said:”I fought with Wallin as a amateur. [Wilder and Fury] will be the cream of the crop and should not be fighting with these sort of people. I can not fight Wallin, I do not think I could ever fight lower-tier heavyweights.”
Fury defeated Tom Schwarz in two rounds following a draw with Wilder, in his latest fight.
Sweden’s Wallin is unbeaten in 21 struggles, and has been removed from his very best outcome, a success from his 24, a year Adrian Granat.
“Otto had a wonderful camp and couldn’t maintain a much better physical or mental condition,” his promoter Dmitriy Salita told Sky Sports.
“He’s coming to jolt the world – and he is in the mental state to take action.”
Wallin said:”[Fury] may do anything he wants in terms of carrying me seriously or not.
“Fury revealed a fantastic chin and a lot of heart in that struggle [from Wilder], but perhaps those shots have taken something from him”
