The Premier League has joined calls for Saudi state satellite operator Arabsat to stop providing a stage for a pirate community that is”abusing” game.
The system, called beoutQ, first began streaming sporting events illegally and despite efforts by sport governing bodies and rights holders to prevent it, the piracy has continued.
A report by manufacturer defense firm MarkMonitor commissioned by many of confederations and leagues countries a definitive connection was established between Arabsat and the network.
The 21 members of the Arab League has been headquartered in Saudi Arabia and founded in 1976 arabsat.
“The report verifies without question that beoutQ’s pirate broadcasts have been transmitted using satellite infrastructure owned and operated by Arabsat,” read a statement released jointly by FIFA, UEFA, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), the Premier League, the Bundesliga, LaLiga, Serie A and also Ligue 1.
“We have been disappointed in our attempts to follow an official copyright claim against beoutQ in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and, while we’ve received reports that beoutQ transmissions are currently disrupted, we still call on Arabsat along with all other satellite providers to discontinue (and moving forward agree to extend ) providing a platform for piracy, which hurts not just legitimate licensees, fans and players but also the sports that it abuses.
“Cutting off its access to transmission providers could be a major step in the struggle to prevent beoutQ. All of us, individually and together, remain committed to bringing an end to international sports piracy.”
Arabsat and the state have been approached to get a response by the Press Association news agency.
The UK and US authorities have spoken out against the operations of beoutQ, together with the chairman of their Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) select committee Damian Collins formerly describing the system’s actions as”straightforward piracy” in May of the year.
Qatar-based beIn SPORTS is your broadcaster frequently targeted by beoutQ. Saudi Arabia and qatar have been engaged in a political dispute since 2017.
